latino community. >> it will be worth it in the end. it will be fun and it will be hard. one man with a bike and a mission. what is inspiring him to ride across the country. good evening, i'm juliette goodrich. ann notarangelo is off tonight. the coroner identified the 19-year-old shot by san francisco police saturday. his name is kenneth harding and he has family in seattle. as linda yee learned police there wanted to talk to him about a fatal shooting there. >> reporter: a witness video posted on youtube documents the minutes after the shooting. the suspect is down. police surround him. and the crowd becomes increasingly agitated. >> one, two, three, four, five, six. >> reporter: on the grounds according to the witness a weapon. missed by officers but picked up by someone in the crowd. police looked at that video, identified the person and recovered the gun today. investigators believe it is the same 45 caliber weapon used by

the suspect to shoot at officers yesterday afternoon. >> the suspect fled on foot during the course of the foot pursuit at this point we believe the suspect fired backwards at the officers. the officers returned fire in self-defense. >> reporter: late today police chief revealing new information about the dead suspect. he was a 19-year-old parolee from washington state and was a person of interest in the shooting of four people in seattle including a woman who was killed. today bayview residents were angry gathering on the muni platform where police first confronted the suspect. they claim police shot an unarmed man. >> the man did not have a gun. they shot that man and let that man die in front of my face, in fronts of these kids' faces out here. >> reporter: dozens of officers stood by and watched while protestors chanted. >> you can see the frustration. there is no relationship between the community and the police departments obviously.

they show up on motorcycles, riot gear. so it becomes intimidating to these young people so they are excited and they lost a loved one so the the excitement is bringing about this. the ancestors inside of them are crying out today. >> reporter: no less than four different groups are looking into this case including homicide investigators, internal affairs, the district attorney and the office of citizens' complaints. in san francisco, linda yee, cbs5. one person was killed and three more were hurt in four shootings in oakland. they happened within nine hours of each other. a 28-year-old man was killed last night in west oakland. he was shot while driving his suv at 19th and west streets. police have no motive or suspects. that was oakland's 65th homicide of the year. three other people are recovering from three shootings between 1 p.m. yesterday afternoon an 9:30 last night. two of the victims managed to get themselves to the hospital. the third was treated and released. no suspects in any of these

shootings. a violent video game that goes on sale next week has already made some enemies right now. among them several mexican lawmakers and a bay area group fighting negative images of latinos. kiet do shows us the game's ties to mexico's drug war. >> reporter: the drug war in mexico that has left more than 40 knew people dead seeing increasingly gruesome executions and strained relations with the u.s. now has its own video game titled call of warez, the cartel. plenty of violence, sex, blood and even more violence. you can play as one of the cops or as one of the many thugs from a mexican drug cartel. >> i was disgusted. >> reporter: she heads the mexican heritage corporation. part of their mission is to combat negative media about latinos. >> it was a celebration of

evil. do i want to by and give it to my kid? i don't think so. >> reporter: the san jose based group is calling for a boycott, asking the federal government to ban the game. a statement was issued saying "while the game touches unsocket on subjects it is more like being immersed in an action movie than a real life situation. >> how many of you guys would buy this video game? raise them high. >> reporter: this group of young men say they like the gape because it is current. both derek and frankie have a airport who is mexican. frankie says the game will cause people to lose respect for latinos. >> doesn't seem to bother you that much? >> no, it doesn't. it is just a game. don't play it if you don't like it. >> reporter: the facebook page

already has 51,000 likes. these days it seems good graphics an controversy help sell games. kiet do, cbs5. police have a person of interest in the murder of a young mother whose burned body was discovered in the rockridge area in oakland. a car wash fund-raiser was held today. a big part of the event friends say was to help pay for her funeral then set up a trust fund for her 2-year-old son. organizers call the case disturbing. >> a human being is dead. and a human being was burned alive. and as a bay area community we need to be outraged. we cannot live in a society that is okay with this violence against women. >> friends say rodas was a happy outgoing mother who lovedded her son. donations are still being accepted at the oakland ymca. there is a $10,000 reward being

offered. casey anthony's lawyer refused to talk about where his client is now. she seems to be staying out of the public eye. after nearly three years behind bars she left a florida jail just after midnight with $537 in her pocket. the money was sent to her by admirers. a jury convicted the 25-year- old of lying to investigators but acquitted her of murdering her 2-year-old daughter. her lawyers say anthony has received at least one death threat. a woman in rupert murdoch's inner circle is out on bail after being arrested in connection with the phone hacking scandal. rebecca brooks resigned friday as head of murdoch's british newspapers. thought to be a political an social insider brooks dined with the prime minister at christmas. the head of london's police force also resigned today. it was on his watch that a former news of the world editor arrested last week was hired as

but a young man who came here from the midwest has much grander plans. mark sayre is in san francisco at the starting po many of us ride our bikes to get a workout. mark sayre is in san francisco at the starting point for what's going to be a long road ahead. mark? >> reporter: this journey begins here at san francisco fire station number 34 tomorrow morning. and this is a journey not only of endurance but also of honor. chris harly ruff is a volunteer firefighter from wisconsin and it was 9/11 that attracted him to the fire service in the first place. >> i was in the eighth grade

when the terrorists went down and it just really struck a cord with me seeing that and i just was trying to think of the best way to kind of tip my hat to him. >> reporter: now ruff is setting off on the challenge of a lifetime to honor fallen firefighters from new york and throughout the nation, ruff is going to try to make it from san francisco all the way to ground zero on his bike in time for the 10th anniversary of 9/11. >> biking across the country going from fire station to fire station along the way hoping to raise awareness about fallen firefighters. >> reporter: in his binder contacts at all of those fire stations and cities big and small. >> salt lake city. denver. omaha. >> reporter: ruff's planned journey has been written about in several firefighting publications when this retired firefighter read about it he opened up his san francisco home. >> when i saw what he was doing i thought i had to get involved in it.

this is something that speaks to me. >> reporter: ruff is the first to admit his is an effort from the heart and does not have logistical support. he doesn't have a vehicle to follow on the route that will cover more than 4400 miles. >> it will be tough. going through the desert. that's not going to be fun. climbing the mountains is not going to be fun. it is going to be hard. but it is going to be worth it in the end. but one thing he does have passion for what he is attempting to do. >> spending a year working for something and to be here a great feeling. >> his journey will begin here tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. members of the san francisco fire department will be escorting him for the first little ways of his journey. hoping to get to watsonville before he begins the long journey to the east. >> admirable. just that basket in the back

92% of full. and you can tell it is a waning gibous moon because it has that reddish tone to it. what we can expect. we have that cool start below average. high temperatures. sun and clouds. mid and high level clouds. but then a warmer end to your workweek. let's take a look at what we can see on radar. we are really seeing some buildup there of moisture just to the north of sonoma county and that's because that low is dipping unusually low. low digging very low. unusually so for this time of the year. really stubborn. not making much of a move but it will eject by the middle to the end of the week. here is a good look at that high pressure that we will start to expend. so clouds to start your workweek. overnight lows just about average. seeing low to high 50s all around. temperatures just a bit warmer right now. not conducive to marine layer.

for tomorrow we are seeing some clouds inland. clouds and sun for the bay. patchy clouds along the coast. sunrise 60 1 a.m. now, you're expected highs for tomorrow still trending below average. we have got 50s and 60s for the coast. 78 for palo alto. mountainview 76. santa clara. expected high for tomorrow 80 degrees. 80s inland. 85 for brentwood. 84 antioch. oakland your expect high for tomorrow. 70 degrees. but then that warmup is in store so we have a couple more days to deal with and then by the end of the week it will get warmer. stinson beach 61 degrees the high tomorrow. extended forecast. one adjustment. wednesday cooler temperatures. about one degrees cooler. by the end of the week we will start to see some 90s inland. some sunnier conditions. warmer conditions. >> here we go. >> all right. >> thank you so much. >> well, from the outside it

forewoman. brigadier-general loretta reynolds. >> what was your first reaction when you found out you were getting this post? >> there are times now that i wake up in the morning and i say am i really here? am i really here at paris island. >> reporter: general reynolds took command of paris island on june 17th and she has already made history as the first woman to lead the marine recruiting depot here. it is a distinction she acknowledges but won't dwell on. >> am i a trail blazer here at the depot? yes, i happen to be the first female. it will be one for the history books and then we are all going to move on. >> reporter: one of only two female generals now active in the marine corps. >> is this the most challenging one. >> reporter: at 6 feet tall she cuts an impressive and potentially imposing figure but it is her stature as a leader that has earned her respect. a 1986 graduate and former basketball player at the naval academy. she is a first female marine to hold a command position in a battle zone which she did when

flight are done packing their gigantic suitcase. they spent today putting things into a cargo canister the size of a bus. it will . astronauts on nasa's last shuttle flight are packing their suitcases. a cannister the size of a bus brought tons of foods and supplies returning filled with trash and other discarded equipment returning to earth

thursday ending 30 years of shuttle life. san diego's gay pride parade is a little different this year. marching openly in the parade displaying their branch of service on t-shirts. this is said to be the first time there was an organized military presence at the parade. they march madness openly to celebrate the open of the military's don't ask, don't tell policy that forced them to hide their sexual orientation. if you had any doubts we can officially tell you that harry potter was king of the box office this weekend. >> the boy who lived, even managed to harry potter taking in 168.6 million from friday to sunday. beating the previous best opening weekend of 158.4 set by
